Rothorn Paradise

The yellow-green electric bus, leaving at the entrance of Zermatt, takes you to the bottom station of Sunnegga funicular train speeding you to Sunnegga and the gondola to Blauherd. From here the cableway takes you further up Rothorn with a great restaurant and magnificent views.

The 3 different transport modes whisk people up to Rothorn Paradise at 3103m and into a breathtaking mountain landscape of glaciers and the Matterhorn.

Viewed from the Rothorn summit, the Matterhorn - along with numerous other four-thousand-metre-peaks as well as impressive glaciers- presents itself at its most stunning. The theme walk Peak Collection around the recently renovated Restaurant Rothorn is one of a kind. This extraordinary outdoor exhibition, displaying 18 sculptures, connects visitors on an artistic level to the Alpine world of Zermatt. The world-renowned Lake Stellisee at 2537 metres altitude reflects the iconic Matterhorn on its glassy surface and is the most photographed mountain lake in Zermatt. From Blauherd, it is only a 20-minute walk to Lake Stellisee. The popular Flower Walk also starts at Blauherd, leads to Tuftern and then back to Sunnegga. Various info panels enhance the visitors knowledge of local flora and fauna. This pleasant hike can be walked at a leisurely pace in approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
